Foreign passport with visa (valid or expired)

Two proof of residency documents. They must include your name and address. Below are examples including but are not limited to:
Current homeowners’ or renters’ insurance policy or statement
Electric, water, natural gas, satellite television, cable television, or non-cellular telephone statement dated within 90 days of the application date
Mail from a financial institution; including checking, savings, investment account, or credit card statements dated within 90 days of the application date
W-2 or 1099 tax form from the current year

Requires to have a person 21 years old with at least 3 years of driving to be in passenger seat before you can practice driving.
Step 4: Complete Impact Texas Young Driver (ITYD) video

Complete the Impact Texas Young Driver (ITYD) video for a certificate. This certificate will expire in 90 days, so only watch the video when you are ready to take the driving test
Step 5: Schedule an appointment with DPS for the driving test.

Bring with you all required documents* as well as your learner permit and the ITYD certificate. You must have a vehicle as well as proof of insurance for it.
